Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the operator of videoflow.dev (the "Site"), together with the VideoFlow software, packages, hosted services, demos, and related interfaces (collectively, the "Service"), may collect, use, disclose, and retain information when you access or interact with the Service. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

Scope

This Policy applies to information processed by us in the course of operating the Site and the Service. It does not apply to third-party websites, networks, package registries, content delivery networks, browsers, hosting providers, or other services that we do not control, even where the Service links to or interoperates with them. Their handling of your information is governed solely by their own policies.

Information we may collect

We may collect or receive the following categories of information, depending on how you interact with the Service:

  • Information you provide directly — for example, anything you send to us by email, anything you submit through a form, contact prompt, or support channel, and any code, prompts, video, audio, image, or other material you upload or paste into the Service.
  • Technical and request information — for example, IP address, user agent, device and browser characteristics, language and locale, timestamps, referrer, requested URLs and parameters, response status, and transport-layer connection metadata. This information may be processed by us and by infrastructure providers acting on our behalf.
  • Cookies and similar local storage — small amounts of information that the Service or our infrastructure providers may store in your browser to enable functional, security, performance, preference, or analytical purposes. The set of cookies and storage in use may evolve as the Service evolves.
  • Usage and diagnostic information — for example, error reports, stack traces, performance and reliability metrics, feature usage, navigation paths, and similar telemetry that helps us understand how the Service is performing and how it is being used.
  • Information from third parties — for example, identity providers, analytics providers, anti-abuse services, content delivery networks, and other partners that may share information with us in connection with the operation of the Service.

How we may use information

We may use information we collect for any lawful purpose related to the Service, including, without limitation:

  • operating, maintaining, securing, debugging, monitoring, and improving the Service;
  • responding to inquiries, support requests, and other communications;
  • preventing, detecting, investigating, and addressing fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms;
  • understanding usage patterns, measuring performance, and informing product decisions, including through analytics;
  • developing, training, evaluating, and improving features, models, heuristics, and quality of the Service;
  • complying with legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations and enforcing our rights;
  • any other purpose disclosed at the time of collection or to which you have consented.

Legal bases

Where applicable data-protection laws require a legal basis for processing, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, your consent (where applicable), and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting prior processing.

Cookies and analytics

The Service may set or read cookies, local storage, session storage, IndexedDB entries, or similar identifiers, whether for functional, preference, security, performance, analytical, or product-improvement purposes. We may use first-party or third-party analytics, performance monitoring, error reporting, content delivery, and anti-abuse tools, and the specific tools we use may change over time. Where required by applicable law, a separate consent banner or preference interface will govern the categories of cookies that may be set.

How we may share information

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. We may share or disclose information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers and processors — with vendors and sub-processors that help us operate, host, secure, and improve the Service (for example, cloud infrastructure, content delivery, analytics, anti-abuse, email delivery, error monitoring), under appropriate contractual safeguards.
  • Legal and safety — to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our Terms; to protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our users, or others; or to investigate or prevent suspected fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • Business transfers — in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, or sale of all or part of our assets. Information may be transferred as part of such a transaction.
  • With your direction or consent — when you have asked us to share information or have otherwise consented to the sharing.
  • Aggregated or de-identified information — we may share information that has been aggregated or de-identified such that it does not reasonably identify you, for any purpose.

International transfers

The Service is operated using global infrastructure. Information we collect may be transferred to, processed in, and stored in jurisdictions other than your own, including jurisdictions that may have different data-protection rules than your home jurisdiction. By using the Service, you acknowledge such transfers. Where required, we will rely on lawful transfer mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Retention

We retain information for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including operating, securing, and improving the Service, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. Specific retention periods may vary based on the type of information, the nature of our relationship with you, and applicable law.

Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information in our custody. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping any credentials you use with the Service confidential, and for the security of systems and devices you use to access the Service.

Children

The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children where prohibited by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights with respect to information about you, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information, to restrict or object to processing, to withdraw consent, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any such right, please contact us through the channel published on the Site. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we may decline requests to the extent permitted by law (for example, where a request would compromise the privacy or rights of others, or where we are required to retain the information).

Do-not-track and global privacy controls

The Service may not respond to "Do Not Track" or similar signals at this time. Where applicable law requires us to honor specific browser-based opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control, we will do so as required.

Third-party content and integrations

The Service may include links to, or embed content from, third-party sites, services, fonts, libraries, package registries, and content delivery networks. We do not control such third parties and are not responsible for their information practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy at any time to reflect changes in the Service, our practices, or applicable law. The current version is the version posted on the Site. Material changes take effect when posted unless otherwise indicated. Your continued use of the Service after changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
